Gagai recovering after time in hospital at the weekend
UPDATE:
THE Newcastle Knights have said Dane Gagai is undergoing a series of tests under the supervision of a cardiologist after he was rushed to hospital on Saturday.
"Following results of these tests and assessments, Gagai and the club will have a guide to his return to training and playing," the statement said.
EARLIER:
KNIGHTS and Queensland back Dane Gagai has been discharged from hospital.
But his immediate playing future is uncertain.
The 24-year-old, who made his Origin debut for Queensland in game three in Brisbane earlier this month, was rushed to hospital at half-time during Newcastle's home game against the Gold Coast Titans on Saturday night.
The club issued a statement yesterday saying Gagai had been discharged from hospital after suffering an abnormal heart rhythm.
"Gagai's condition was stabilised," the statement read.
"He will require further cardiologist assessment as a precaution."
