Frightening incident cordons off street in suburbia
A STREET in one of the Sunshine Coast's most expensive suburbs was cordoned off by police as a man allegedly barricaded himself inside with a knife.
A police spokesman said police officers, the dog squad and negotiators were on the scene in the short street in Alexandra Headland as they dealt with what was alleged to be a domestic violence incident.
The incident, which lasted more than 90 minutes in the early hours of Saturday, September 17, was resolved peacefully.
"The 30-year-old man surrendered peacefully," the spokesman said.
"He has been taken to the watch house and charges have been laid."
