Telstra's massive rip-off

SOME consumers are being hit with a "92% price premium" to use Telstra's network, a consumer advocate report shows.

Choice analysed 53 different Telstra contracts and 280 specific products, comparing them to similar offers from other companies.

It found Telstra products that cost 6-92% more than its competitors.

Choice's Tom Godfrey said it was time for Telstra to "admit their network is failing" after seven major outages in the past six months.

He said it was "a long way from offering a quality network".

The company has offered "free data" days to compensate consumers for the outages.
