Fire, electrocution hazard: Urgent safety recall for toaster
THE AUSTRALIAN Competition and Consumer Commission has issued an urgent safety recall for a four-slice toaster identified as posing a fire and electrocution hazard.
The Target 4 Slice Toaster TART1704 Keycode 60024374 was sold nationally at Target and Target Country outlets between May 18 and June 20 this year.
The ACCC issued the urgent product recall on Friday after the product was found to be a fire and electric shock risk.
"The toaster may overheat due to internal component failure," the ACCC warning reads.
Target Australia has advised customers to stop using the Chinese-made toaster immediately and "return it to a Target or Target Country store as soon as possible, where our team members will provide you with a full refund".

Target has outlets at Goldfields Plaza (Gympie), Plaza Junction Shopping Centre (Noosa Heads), Sunshine Plaza (Maroochydore), Beerwah Village (Beerwah), Bribie Island and Morayfield Shopping Centre (Morayfield).
The Daily has sent questions to Target Australia seeking confirmation of how many toasters were sold nationally and in the region, and how many toasters were believed to be affected.
