Feeney admits his errors
EMBATTLED Labor frontbencher David Feeney has admitted his failure to declare a $2.3 million property is "the biggest own goal" of the Opposition's campaign.
Mr Feeney made the admission in an interview with Sky News on Wednesday night, saying the "mistake" had led to "days of humiliation".
Fairfax Media first reported the oversight late last week, triggering a series of stories about politicians on all sides who had quietly owned investment properties through trusts.
In many cases, including Mr Feeney's, the trust owning the properties was declared on the members' interests statements, but the properties themselves were not.
Mr Feeney kicked another "own goal" yesterday when it was revealed he left an internal Labor briefing note in the Sky News station and it later emerged in public.
