Fair fun to be had under the moonlight at St Johns

FOR decades, St John’s parents, friends, teachers and students alike have rallied behind the annual Moonlight Fair.

Committee member Danielle Lee remembers fondly her own school-day fairs, and being on board to help organise the 2019 rendition is something she’s excited about.

“It’s a huge community event, a lot of people are looking forward to it,” she said.

“Our Facebook page has had huge hits and responses, there’s going to be a huge number of stalls witha big focus on food. We will have a bit of a mini side-show alley set up with lots of rides.”

Co-ordinator Heather McHugh said watching the fair flourish to the size it has become is a testament to the whole community.

“It’s more like a small show now,” she said.

“It’s the P&F’s main fundraiser for the school. Over the years we’ve been able to help out with some enw buldings and facilities.
“We’re back again this year to again contribute to enhancing the everygrowing school.”

The St Johns Moonlight Fair is on next Friday from 5.30pm. For more information, head to their Facebook page.
