EXTENDED: Residents to heed fire ban restrictions

FIRE bans have been extended across the Burnett again.

Residents will be prohibited from lighting fire in the open until midnight on Friday, October 25.

This includes anyone in the South Burnett, Cherbourg, North Burnett, Bundaberg, Fraser Coast and Gympie Local Government areas.

The ban, issued by the Queensland Fire and Emergency Services, was originally put in place on Saturday, September 5.

Any permits to light fires which were previously issued are now cancelled.
