Encouraging Christmas shopping to stay local
THIS Christmas, Maranoa residents are encouraged to keep dollars local and Tony Lambert is more than happy to incentivise them for doing so.
The owner of Roma Home Improvement Centre is donating two prizes towards the My Maranoa initiative where locals can go in the running for fantastic prizes, all for injecting money into local businesses.
Mr Lambert said in times of drought its important to get behind each-other whenever we can and hopes the initiative will drive more people to spending at stores in the Maranoa.
“It’s very important for local businesses to support the community to the best our of ability,” he said.
“Most community groups who come across our door we will donate something, whether it’s to this extent which is fairly substantial for us or a small voucher because we believe it’s the right thing to do.”
Roma Home Improvement Centre is donating a Makita Garden package which contains a 4 stroke mower, 4 stroke brushcutter and 4 stroke blower valued at $1,200, as well as an outdoor package with a 3 course Abdri block fire pit and 6 burner hooded BBQ valued at $985.
“It’s a very good quality garden package and it should last whoever wins it for a long time, most likely 10 years or more,” Mr Lambert said.
To be in the running, a single purchase of $10 or more is required at any participating My Maranoa business from now until December 3, with multiple entries allowed.
The winners will be drawn at the Christmas party on McDowall St on Thursday, December 5.
