Echidnas' convincing home ground win

Roma Echidna's have cemented another week at the top of the ladder, defeating the Toowoomba Bears 59-5 in their first home game of the season.

Playing before a crowd of supporters at Gallas Fox Park, the Echidnas' put on a show, leaving behind no prisoners, as they took a convincing win over their visitors.

By half time, the Echidnas' had made four tries and four conversions, sitting on a comfortable 28 over the Bears' one try, five point score.

The home side continued to dominate after the break, making another 31 points in the second 40 minutes.

Ben Bright was a player not to be messed with, clinching a try and making seven conversions.

Cooper Dingle, Dan Sutherland, Jack Dearden and Dan Coulthurst all scored a try-a-piece.

Regan Tucker scored two tries for the Echidnas.

AJ Riley and Adam Shorten both added five points each to their team.

For the Bears, number 11 Luke Sparl scored his team's only try.
