Driver trapped for an hour in Buderim crash

A MOTORIST, 25, was lucky to escape serious injury when his car struck a tree in Buderim.

The man was driving along Water St when his car struck the tree near King St at 3am on Sunday.

He was trapped in the vehicle and fire crews spent almost an hour to free him.

With both lanes of the road blocked, traffic was diverted down Mayfield St until 6.45am when the scene was cleared.

The man was transported to Nambour General Hospital with an arm injury.
