
Accused murderer plans to plead not guilty to stabbing
UPDATE 10AM:
WOODFORD man John William Francis, 50, will plead not guilty to a host of charges including the murder of a 50-year-old Delaneys Creek man, according to his lawyer.
Francis fronted Caboolture Magistrates Court on Tuesday morning charged with four counts of attempted murder and one count each of murder, enter dwelling with intent, contravention of a domestic violence order, driving whilst disqualified, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and attempted arson.
The incident has been labelled by police as domestic violence-related.
The dead man's partner was believed to be Mr Francis' ex-wife.
Police have alleged Francis drove a vehicle into a Chappel Road residence, Delaneys Creek, about 7.30pm Monday before assaulting the 50-year-old man.
Police later located the man's body in the property's front yard, suffering wounds.
Five people were inside the home at the time, however no one else was injured.
Queensland police Senior Seargent Tony Green said the incident was not isolated, and those involved were known to each other.

He said Francis had been cooperative following his arrest.
"At about 7:30 last night police were called to the address here on Chappel Road responding to an incident," he said.
"As a result they observed a vehicle to be driven into the dwelling.
"Police then also observed a male person to be deceased in the front yard, appeared to be suffering wounds."
Francis kept his head bowed and stared at the floor while Magistrate Jennifer Batts remanded him in custody and adjourned the case until June.
Outside the court, Francis' Legal Aid representative Blair Hoolihan said he would be defending the charges.

A 50-YEAR-OLD Woodford man will appear in court this morning after he allegedly slammed his car into a house and stabbed the resident inside to death.
About 7.30pm it is alleged the man drove a vehicle into a Chappel Road residence at Delaney's Creek near Caboolture.
Police say there were five people inside the home at the time.
The man then allegedly assaulted a 50-year- male resident. The man died at the scene.
No one was else was physically injured during the incident.
The 50-year-old Woodford man has been charged with four counts of attempted murder and one count each of murder, enter dwelling with intent, contravention of a domestic violence order, driving whilst disqualified, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and attempted arson.
He is due to appear in the Caboolture Magistrates Court today.
