Driver charged over crash that killed traffic controller
INVESTIGATORS have charged a driver over the Bruce Hwy crash that killed Sunshine Coast traffic controller Ken Altoft.
Police will allege that just after midnight yesterday the driver struck Mr Altoft at roadworks on the southbound lanes of the highway.
Mr Altoft, 56, died at the scene.

Police will further allege the driver and sole occupant of the car, a 47-year-old Maroochydore man, initially left the scene and was located by police a short distance away from the crash.
He was treated at the Sunshine Coast University Hospital for multiple serious but non-life threatening injuries.
The driver has been charged with one count of dangerous operation of a vehicle causing death.
He is expected to appear in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court this afternoon, November 8.
