Driver caught with drugs in his system four separate times

A TOOWOOMBA man caught four separate times driving with illicit drugs in his system has been visited with a term of probation to help him deal with his drug issues.

William Stanley Ivers, 33, had been caught with drugs including methylamphetamine and marijuana in his system when pulled over twice by police on October 11, last year, firstly on the Warrego Hwy, Redwood, just after midnight and again on Bernard St, Newtown, that afternoon; and again while driving in Toowoomba on October 29, and again on North St in the early hours of January 16 this year.

Between those offences, he had also been caught driving while under 24-hour suspension, driving while on general suspension, possessing a water pipe and spoon used in connection with drugs and failing to give identifying particulars to police within seven days of his arrest on October 11.

He pleaded guilty before Toowoomba Magistrates Court to all charges.

He was placed on 18 months probation and disqualified from driving for two years.
