Downs donates to Angel Flight

Centenary celebrations at Bonus Downs have raised $9000 for Angel Flight.

Bonus Downs, located 46kms south-west of Mitchell, which is owned by Madonna and Lyle Connolly, celebrated its centenary on October 22-23, 2011.

On Tuesday, Madonna presented a cheque to Adrian Bucknell of Angel Flight.

The presentation was made at Commonwealth Bank Roma with branch manager Trevor Harrison and Daniel Elder of regional agribusiness banking on hand.

A significant amount of money was donated by Lyall Fisher of Roma Windscreens which was greatly appreciated by Bonus Downs and Angel Flight.

"It was a wonderful donation from the Fishers and we are grateful for it," Madonna said.

Madonna said the fundraising evening that took place was fantastic.

"We had 180 people enjoying a lovely dinner under the stars at Bonus Downs," she said.

"People even came from as far as Melbourne which was brilliant.

"Thanks to everyone for their great support on the anniversary weekend."

Madonna gave special thanks to their sponsors Commonwealth Bank Agribusiness, Epic Energy, Corish Lamb, Goondiwindi and Tilly's Crawler Parts Pty Ltd Toowoomba.
