Diana Chan crowned MasterChef's 2017 winner
DIANA Chan knew the MasterChef title was hers to lose.
The Melbourne accountant was the favourite going into tonight's grand final show-down against Ipswich father-of-three Ben Ungermann.
Going into the third and final round she was three points ahead of Ben, who suffered a setback when he cut his finger and had to receive treatment from nurses during his cooking time.

In an epic six-hour final pressure test, Diana and Ben were asked to recreate Kirsten Tibballs' 'Trio of Fruits'.
"Being called the favourite and knowing a lot of the contestants had pinned me as their favour is obviously a lovely sentiment but this show is so intense and you're under pressure - anything can change on the day," she said.
"Even though I was in the lead going into round three I think I had more pressure; it was my round to lose."

The 29-year-old praised her runner-up for pushing her all the way to the finish line.
"Ben was amazing in the finale," she said.
"Not just in round three, but in rounds one and two he really brought his A game and showed the judges his love of cooking... he really made me work for it."
As part of her grand prize, Diana takes home $250,000 and will pen a monthly column in Delicious magazine.
She's also working on a tourism campaign for Malaysia, where she grew up before moving to Australia at the age of 19.

"Plenty of amazing opportunities have presented themselves in the last few weeks," she said.
"I've always talked about opening my fresh, casual restaurant that serves delicious, balanced fusion meals. Anything that comes into play will have to tie into that."
Runner-up Ben, meanwhile, plans to capitalise on his nickname as MasterChef's 'king of ice cream'.
"I absolutely love making ice creams. The idea of an ice cream parlour is something I'd like to do, and possibly a gourmet range for supermarkets," he said.
"It's something I learned and owned in the competition and I really love the wacky flavours, so it's something I hope to promote."
