Defence review calls for changes, could mean job losses
A DEFENCE review is calling for "transformational change" of the department and selling off some real estate.
Defence Minister Kevin Andrews said the First Principles Review called for major changes and efficiency gains.
A statement from shadow defence minister Stephen Conroy said Labor would consider the recommendations but was wary of it becoming an "excuse for yet more job cuts in Defence".
The statement said Labor was concerned implementing the review could mean the loss of 1000 jobs.
