Defeated LNP MP pushed Billy Gordon allegations
A FORMER LNP MP beaten by Billy Gordon for the far north Queensland seat of Cook has confirmed he was behind the first allegations that are now threatening Labor's hold on power.
The Australian is reporting ousted LNP MP David Kempton helped Mr Gordon's former partner make a complaint about unpaid child support following the state election in late January.

Mr Gordon resigned from Labor on Monday after revelations that he had dodged child support payments and hidden his criminal record.
On Tuesday, Sunshine Coast independent MP Peter Wellington -- now Speaker -- said allegations against Mr Gordon appeared to be an "orchestrated attempt to bring down the government", with the claims being exploited by News Limited and the Opposition.
Mr Kempton was not the only LNP member to work with Mr Gordon's former partner, with MP Warren Entsch and former MP Gavin King, a journalist, also hearing her account.
The LNP personalities kept close contact with the woman for weeks before the allegation was released to the Premier and in turn, leaked to the media.
Mr Gordon has now told media he would not resign from Parliament.
Mr Wellington has previously confirmed there is no legal need for him to quit.
