A DRIVER has been caught out making a ridiculous turn at a Toowoomba intersection.

The incident, captured on dascham, took place on Ruthven St.

A car heading south on the major CBD artery pulled up at the lights at the intersection of Ruthven and Bridge Sts.

The driver of the ute, which was in the left lane, must have had a sudden change of heart and realised he needed to turn right on to Bridge St.

The male driver looked back through the window while waiting for the lights to change.

When the green turning arrow appeared he again checked for traffic before pulling in front of another car in the right lane on Ruthven St.

The ute followed a car which was legitimately in the right turning lane.

The video publisher gave the driver credit for checking before making the outrageous manoeuvre.

"This guy was clearly checking out his surroundings to make sure it was safe, but still."

The video was labelled "Dashcam when you wanna turn, you wanna turn".

Motorists making an improper turn can be fined $70 and two demerit points.
