Cyrus Villanueva wins The X Factor 2015
CYRUS Villanueva has been crowned this year's X Factor winner.
The 19-year-old was overcome with emotion when he was announced as the 2015 victor, fighting through tears to perform his winner's song Stone.
The Wollongong graphic design student was the favourite to take out last night's two-hour grand final and the grand prize, a recording contract with Sony Music Australia.
"I can't thank everyone enough," Villanueva said before he was surrounded by his fellow Top 12 contestants.
He also paid tribute to mentor Chris Isaak, whose hit song Wicked Game he sang in his final X Factor performance.
The contest came down to first-time mentors Isaak and James Blunt, whose contestant Louise Adams finished runner-up.
Sydney lovebirds Jess & Matt finished third, but could take comfort in at least becoming the first group or duo to make it to an X Factor Australia grand final.
Judge Dannii Minogue also performed with her sister Kylie for the first time in three decades. They sang 100 Degrees off Kylie's new Christmas album.
"We've been excited a little bit nervous; it's a very special moment for us," Kylie said.
"I have to explain the whole summer Christmas thing overseas all the time."
Villanueva's winner's single this morning debuted at Number 2 on the iTunes charts and his self-titled debut album will be released on December 9.
