Cyclist refused a drink, had a dance, then nabbed at 0.189%
A GLENMORE Hotel patron who was refused alcohol so "had a bit of a dance" and rode home on a bicycle pleaded guilty in Rockhampton Magistrates Court to drink-driving on January 6.
Police witnessed Rodney Darren Holmes cycling through a car park, almost colliding with a parked car at 7.30pm on December 12.
Police prosecutor Danita Clarke said Holmes told police he drank three beers between 4pm and the time of being caught.
Holmes recorded a blood-alcohol concentration of 0.189%.
"I was drinking at home and went to the hotel but they wouldn't serve me because I was intoxicated," Holmes told the court.
"So I had a water and a bit of a dance.
"I totally regret it."
Magistrate Cameron Press fined Holmes $650.
