CRACKDOWN: Roma police raid multiple homes, seize drugs/cash
In a coordinated crackdown on the southwest black market, Roma police executed multiple drugs raids on homes across the town and charged five people with a range of drug related offences in one single day.
Police swooped in on various homes throughout Roma on Wednesday, February 24.
One raid at an Edwardes St home resulted in a 22-year-old man and a 26-year-old man issued a notice to front Roma Magistrates Court on March 16 after police allegedly located a range of drugs and drug utensils.
Police searched their home at 6.30am and charged the pair with possessing dangerous drugs and drug utensils.
An hour later, officer searched a Wheeler Drive residence and seized their largest amount of drugs and cash for the day.
A 23-year-old Roma woman was charged with supplying dangerous drugs, possessing dangerous drugs and possessing drug utensils after officers allegedly found methamphetamine, drug utensils, tablets and sums of cash $130, $435 and $845.
The woman is due to front the Roma courthouse on March 16.
Shortly after, at 9.30am, a 24-year-old Roma woman was charged with possessing cannabis and four drug utensils.
Officers searched her home on Beitz St and she was handed a notice to appear in the Roma courthouse on March 16.
At 9.45am, officers executed a search warrant at a Whipp St residence and allegedly found more drug utensils.
A 23-year-old Roma woman will front the Roma courthouse on March 31.
