Country show a huge success

THE 99th Wallumbilla Show kicked off over the weekend and boasted everything from dodgem cars to show jumping, side shows and ute musters.

The newly built pavilion was overflowing with home made wares, artworks, photos, home grown fruit and vegetables as well as patchwork quilts and children's crafts.

Show president Mark Swan said the show had a terrific turnout and he was even more excited for the 100th anniversary show next year.

"We're planning a huge event to commemorate next year's 100th anniversary,” he said.

"We'd like to host a black tie dinner and dance, a rodeo, and double the number of attractions.”

Committee secretary Karen Sainty said there were too many sponsors to thank for making the show such a success.

"This wouldn't have been possible without Maranoa Regional Council, Santos, Wallumbilla Pharmacy, Origin Energy, Crawfo's Tyres, Midwest Rural Traders, the Federal Hotel, Swans Earthmoving, Hamilton Park Wagyu, Bendemere Nursery, Wallumbilla Caravan Park, Mounts Machinery Roma, Sharpe Engineering, Rudd's Horse Transport, T & W Earthmoving, Lyle and Vicki Brown, and many others,” she said.
