Council's focus on our small towns
YULEBA'S Cobb and Co Park was top of the agenda at this week's Maranoa Regional Council meeting.
Councillors wrapped up weeks of debate about the master plan for the future tourist attraction and gave the project the green light.
A feasibility study into re-building the Yuleba Fire Tower will also be conducted, alongside other historical attractions.
"This will be saving history, and will also be a class-one tourism project that will put Yuleba on the map,” Mayor Tyson Golder said.
A resolution to boost small businesses in the Maranoa's small towns was also passed during the council meeting.
Council will commit funding to business workshops in Mitchell, Surat and Injune during the upcoming Queensland Small Business Week, which is being recognised statewide, from May 27-31.
"I want to thank our staff for their efforts,” portfolio chair for economic development Cr Cameron O'Neil said.
"The workshops will be well-received in Surat, Injune and Mitchell.”
