Council seeks suggestions for dog park
Would you like a designated place close-by to let your dog off the leash to run, play and socialise?
Council is seeking feedback from the Roma community to see whether there is any support for an off-leash dog park in Roma.
A possible location for the dog park has been identified at the entrance to Adungadoo Pathway near Shady's Lagoon, located off Charles Street, Roma.
This area has a number of established trees and is accessible for walkers and cyclists (via Adungadoo Pathway) and by car, with access to parking.
Councillor Puddy Chandler, Portfolio Chair for Community Safety said Council is keen to hear the feedback from residents.
"We know that we have many dog lovers in town and the Maranoa, who would like to see an off leash dog park in Roma,” Cr Chandler said.
"Councillors would like to know firstly if this is something our residents are interested in Council constructing, and if so, what they would like the facility to look like.
"It's important that we get community feedback before we consider this project for a future budget,” she said.
Councillors will be on location near Adungadoo Pathway entrance, off Charles Street, Roma to meet you and your dog to have a chat on the following dates:
Tuesday, 11 April 2017 - 5.15pm
Saturday, 29 April 2017 - 9am.
Feedback can be provided online at www.maranoa.qld.gov.au, or by picking up a form from Council's Roma Customer Service Centre, or printing the feedback form and posting it to:
