Dude, where’s my gargoyle?

A FLYER featuring a stolen 35kg concrete gargoyle is being distributed around Jamboree Heights after it was stolen from its owners' front yard.

Sarah Orchard said the gargoyle was a gift to her partner from his parents, and that the sentimental value far outweighed its value.

"We've had it for a few years and it always just sat there. Then I went to move my car the other day and I thought 'ah, shouldn't there be a gargoyle there?'," she said.

Ms Orchard said the couple just wanted the gargoyle back, but would be keen to hear from anyone who might have seen it.

The gargoyle sat opposite a similar sized dragon, which the thieves left behind.

"It takes two men even to drag the dragon. It's not like it would've been a last minute decision like 'hey, we're going to steal that gargoyle'," Ms Orchard said.

Ms Orchard suspects the thief may also live in the neighbourhood.

"I 100 per cent think it's somebody who lives nearby. They would have to be driving past here enough times to scope out the place," she said.

"Dude, come on. If you wanted one so bad, I can tell you where to get them."

Anyone with information should contact police.
