Commerce Roma to host community forum
ROMA will get another chance to meet their candidates, as Commerce Roma prepares to host another community forum for its council candidates in the Maranoa region.
The forum, held in conjunction with the upcoming election, aims to give insight to how the current council operates and the role of local government.
Commerce Roma president Carmen Roberts said the forum was designed to provide a neutral environment for candidates to speak.
“We wanted to ask the councillors to meet and greet with people, but we saw it as an opportunity to hold a create a neutral platform for candidates to have a fair hearing,”
she said.
“Every councillor will have the opportunity to be equally heard and seen, and community members will be allowed to ask the questions they want answered.
“It’s not about campaigning or political posturing; its about dialogue and giving the candidates the ability to represent the community.”
The forum will be held next Monday at the Maranoa Regional Council Auditorium at 5.30pm. For more information check out the event at https://www.facebook.com/events/221214184893761/.
