Cities need a win to reclaim top spot
RUGBY LEAGUE: The Roma Cities A-grade side have surrendered their top spot on the ladder after a draw on the weekend with St George.
The Cities drew 26-all with St George in a game that came down to the last few critical moments.
With just 10 minutes to go, the Cities were in a good position to win as they were leading by two, but a penalty goal from the St George side brought the end result to a draw.
The last two games for the Cities have ended in disappointing results, having lost the previous game to the Red Bulls.
For the Cities to stay in the race for the minor championship and regain their top position, they are going to have to win against Chinchilla on the weekend.
As it currently stands, Chinchilla are in first place on the Club Championship ladder with a total of 28 points.
Cities follow in at a close second with 26 points.
Although A-grade’s game had a less than satisfying result last weekend, the other three Cities sides all played some exciting games to secure three out of four wins for the club.
Cities Reserve Grade won 28-20, the under-18s won 28-6 and the under-16s won 40-18.
