Christmas taken to the streets

IT REALLY is beginning to look a lot like Christmas in Roma.

Arthur St was taken over by Christmas trees, tinsel, festive songs and, of course, Santa and Mrs Claus at the Commerce Roma Christmas Street Party on Thursday.

The balmy night brought the party-goers out on mass, and the street was packed with families enjoying the Christmas spirit.

Plenty of people got into the Christmas theme, and Santa hats and reindeer antlers popped up all throughout the crowd.

A highlight for the kids was a chance to have their photo taken with Santa.

There was delicious food and drinks on offer thanks to the Roma Lions, Men's Shed and various other clubs and businesses.

An assortment of goods were sold at market stalls, all run by local business owners, giving visitors the chance to get started on their Christmas shopping.

Businesses and restaurants on McDowall St, Roma, stayed open for late night shopping, giving a real energy and buzz to the Roma CBD.

Thanks go to event sponsors Commerce Roma and Santos GLNG.
