Bureau issues flood watch for North Queensland
UPDATE:
The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a flood warning for catchments north of Townsville over the next three days.
Rainfall totals of 100-200mm have been recorded in the 24 hours to 9am Wednesday on the North Tropical Coast.
Heavy rainfall associated with the Monsoon Trough will continue to affect coastal catchments, the bureau said.
EARLIER:
The Bureau of Meteorology has predicted a wet Christmas for many parts of Queensland including Mackay.
The days following Christmas rain is also being forecast.
