Christmas event planned for Injune to help struggling families
A GENEROUS not-for-profit organisation is planning on coming to Injune to deliver much-needed gifts to struggling locals in time for Christmas.
Care Outreach’s Christmas in the Bush program aims to deliver food hampers, presents and fuel cards to people in need, sourced from donors.
Maranoa Regional Council will consider Care Outreach’s request to use the Injune Community Centre and two caravan park sites at no cost, otherwise valued at $1320.
The officer’s recommendation is to let them use the Community Centre and caravan park, but not the two nearby cabins, as a new manager is yet to be found.
According to the council’s meeting agenda, Care Outreach’s presence in Injune will benefit families struggling with drought this festive season.
The matter is set to be discussed by the council in an ordinary meeting on October 28.
If approved, the event is expected to be held between November 21 and December 12, 2020.
Anyone wishing to donate items to families in need can do so on Care Outreach’s website.
