Celebrate new beginnings this Christmas

IT HAS been a big year for all of us, and with the festive season upon us now, it is time to take a big deep breath and reflect.

If you feel like the busy-ness of life has made you lose your joy and love of life; if the need to meet all your commitments has made your light go out, then Jesus is calling you. He is saying "Come to me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest”.

St Paul's Anglican Church Roma will be celebrating Advent and Christmas throughout December at our 9am Sunday morning church services. We invite all to come and experience a love-filled Christmas so your loving light can shine brightly once more.

St Paul's Anglican Church warden Craig Miller said: "We have a lot to celebrate at St Paul's. After a whole year without a priest we now have two”.

"We have been blessed with the arrival of priest-in-charge, Rev Dr Graham Warren, and deacon, Rev Dr Imelda O'Loughlin, who commenced in October and will be officiating all the Christmas services this year,” he said.

Fr Graham Warren said "Christmas is a time of great celebration. We, as a community, have many reasons to celebrate and new beginnings and new life lived in Jesus Christ are two of the best”.

"You can come to church and forget about the presents you need to buy, the food you need to cook, the cards you need to write and the money you need to find to make ends meet,” he said.

Fr Graham is inviting the whole community to come along and celebrate love and life and blessings this Christmas, saying "there truly is no need to be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, life is more than all of these things”.

"Life, and Christmas, is all about love and that is why we will be rejoicing at St Paul's, and we would truly love you to come and celebrate the new life and new beginnings that were the message of the first Christmas in Bethlehem over two thousand years ago,” Fr Graham said.
