BRISBANE prop Josh McGuire says he and his Broncos pack will face a tough assignment against an in-form Cronulla Sharks, led by Paul Gallen, before he makes his debut for Australia on Friday week.

McGuire is one of four new faces in new coach Mel Meninga's first Kangaroos side named to play New Zealand in Newcastle on May 6.

He will lock horns with Gallen at Shark Park on Sunday afternoon before they become Australian team-mates the next day in Kangaroo's camp.

McGuire, who made his Origin debut for Queensland under Meninga last year has fought his way back to the top following a major eye injury and after rupturing his Achilles last year.
