Broken dish shard allegedly used as a weapon
A 28-year-old man has been charged following an incident that occurred at a residence on Mornington Island yesterday afternoon.
Police will allege that around 3.45pm, two men became involved in an argument at a Maarn Maarn Katha Street address.
During the course of the argument, it will be further alleged that one of the men, aged 28-years, smashed a plate and used a sharp segment to wound the other man, aged 22-year-old.
He then fled the scene on-foot.
The 22-year-old sustained a stab wound to his upper right arm and presented to the Mornington Island Hospital for treatment of the non-life-threatening injury.
A short while later, police located the 28-year-old and he was taken into custody.
The 28-year-old Mornington Island man has been charged with one count of wound.
He is due to appear in Mornington Island Magistrates Court today, March 26.
