UPDATE: A man is in custody after leaving a house in Slade Point after stand off.
The man is being assessed for injuries by paramedics.
A man has been transported by paramedics to Mackay Base Hospital with a 'minor' cut to one of his legs.
A QAS spokesman said two crews are still on scene at Blackwood St.
Police are 'negotiating with a man' at the address a police media spokesman said.
He said no more information will be released at this time.

Police are attempting to surround a house on Blackwood St; plain clothes police officers and about 10 uniformed officers are involved.
A neighbour told the Daily Mercury that they believed someone had been injured.
Two paramedics are outside the home on the street attending to someone with a lower leg injury.
The dog squad has just arrived at the Slade Point address.
It is believed the incident happened around 3pm.
BREAKING 4PM: As many as four police cars have rushed to Slade Point after a reported 'incident' on Blackwood St.
The street is closed as ambulance and police are at the scene.
