Man identified in Darling Downs fatal crash this morning
UPDATE: The man who died who died from in a single-vehicle rollover on the Cunningham Hwy this morning has been identified as a 79-year-old man from the Sunshine Coast.
Warwick Police was on the scene for more than four hours after the car he was driving left the road and rolled.
One unit from the Queensland Fire and Emergency Services was at the crash site for two and a half hours.
Sergeant Shane Reid said it was believed the man died from impact.
"We are not aware of any motorists seeing the accident happen but if there is someone who saw the accident, we would ask them to come forward," he said.
The man was heading towards Brisbane and only a short distance from Cunningham's Gap.
9AM: A MAN has died this morning after his car rolled over just south of Toowoomba.
The driver, believed to be in his 70's, was travelling east on the Cunningham Hwy in Tregony when he crashed around 7.25am.
He died at the scene.
Sergeant Shane Reid from Warwick Police said it appeared the car veered off the right-hand side of the road and into a table drain before colliding with an embankment.
"The vehicle has rolled an unknown number of times, landing on its roof," he said.
Sgt Reid said investigations were continuing into the cause of the crash.
The Forensic Crash Unit will be at the crash site later today.
Anyone travelling in that direction can expect lengthy delays.
