Boy burned in boat fire off South Stradbroke

A YOUNG boy is among five people who have suffered significant burns in fire on a boat off Queensland's South Stradbroke Island.

The speed boat went up in flames near Tipplers Beach around 10am today.

A 5-year-old boy, a man and three women have been taken to various hospitals with significant burns.

They reportedly jumped from the vessel when it caught fire close to shore.
