Boxing Day hits the target

SHOOTING: Roma Clay Target Club held its final event of this year on Wednesday, welcoming shooters from across the region to a social post-Christmas round.

The 'red shorts shoot' saw members arrive in festive getup, said club president Andrew Whyte.

"Today's shoot was the last event in the Roma Gun Clubs annual program.

"It is traditionally a novelty day shot in boxer shorts, but this year it was decided to change; red shorts or skirts were the order of the day.

"A great day was had by all thanks to the extra efforts of Richard Morrison in setting up the Sporting Clay Layouts and Patrick Magee for organising and administrating,” he said.

Now, the club will look ahead to March and April, when they host a ten-day double event that will combine the 2019 Down the Line National Championships and the Pre Nationals Roman Chariot shoot.
