Beast pummels fighter into oblivion

DYNAMITE Daniel Dubois was dragged into the unfamiliar depths of the third round but earned his seventh career win to stay on course for a world title shot.

The 20-year-old English fighter - still a year too young to challenge for the British belt - retained his title by stopping DL Jones in his longest pro fight to date, The Sun reports.

The Peacock Gym giant, who had won his previous six inside the opening six minutes, has now won seven fights in just 12 rounds.

Jones tried to wrestle almost instantly, clinging on for dear life at every opportunity that made for an ugly first round.

But DDD - in the Mike Tyson-esque black shorts and boots combo - is enough to make any man abandon his gameplan and revert to survival mode.

Greenwich ace Dubois only treated the crowd to jabs and short left-hooks in the opening few minutes but his devastating right came out a couple of times toward the end of the second but did not trouble the Kent fighter.

A third-round right hook had Jones - who started the night with an 8-0-1 record - stumbling into the ropes where he covered up and absorbed the blows on his gloves.

But Dubois - the 17-stone Adonis rumoured to have wobbled Anthony Joshua in sparring - stepped up a gear and unleashed another flurry that had referee Bob Williams diving in after Jones finally went down.

Meanwhile, heavyweight beast Nathan Gorman is definitely not one of Snow White's seven dwarves but he whistled while he went to work on Saturday night to extend his unbeaten record.

The 18-stone brute blew out a little tune with every thunderous punch he hurled into the sacrificial body of Frenchman Morgan Dessaux.

The Ricky Hatton-trained 21-year-old dropped the 4-1 visitor in the first round and threw enough unanswered punches in the second to cause a stoppage.

The Nantwich boxer, from a famous family of Gypsy bare-knuckle fighters, now has a 12-0 record with 10 knockouts.

A British showdown with the phenomenal looking Dubois is being hyped up and blowing DDD away would be the real challenge.
