Bowls club fight leaves two men injured and another arrested

POLICE have charged a man following investigations into the alleged assault of two men at Moore Park Beach last night.

It will be alleged around 8.20pm two men, a 19-year-old and a 27-year-old, have become involved in an argument at a bowls club on Club Avenue.

The argument is then alleged to have escalated into a physical altercation and a third man, a 49-year-old, has attempted to intervene. The 19-year-old is then alleged to have punched the other two men causing them both to fall to the ground and has then continued to assault both men as the lay on the ground.

The man has then left the scene.

The 49-year-old man suffered a broken ankle and facial injuries and the 27-year-old was treated for a suspected broken jaw and facial injuries.

A 19-year-old, Moore Park Beach man was later arrested and charged with one count each of grievous bodily harm and assaults occasioning bodily harm.

He is due to appear in the Bundaberg Magistrates Court on Monday, May 16.
