Bow and arrow: Man charged with attempted murder

DETECTIVES have charged a man with attempted murder after a man was allegedly struck by an arrow in Lawnton on Tuesday afternoon.

Police were called to a residence in Ellis Street around 1.30pm following reports a man had received a puncture wound to his arm and chest from an arrow discharged from a compound bow.

A 40-year-old man was taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital for treatment.

A 37-year-old Lawnton man was arrested at the scene and has been charged with one count of attempted murder.

He is due to appear in the Pine Rivers Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
