Borallon reopening will lock in 270 jobs

BORALLON prison is back.

After months of speculation the QT can reveal that Borallon Correctional Centre will be reopened in 2016 with up to 492 male inmates to benefit from what will be a training and educational hub.

Corrective Services Minister Jo-Ann Miller said reopening the prison would create 270 jobs, reduce overcrowding and provide inmates with the resources for a better life after jail.
