Black Tie Ball promises to be a success

IT’S one of the most glamorous nights on the local calendar and the perfect opening for the Roma Picnic Races weekend.

The 2016 Black Toyota Black Tie Ball promises to be one of the biggest and best yet, with tickets having sold out for the evening at Bassett Park a month ago.

Picnic Races committee president David Gordon said the event had gone from strength to strength since it began and was keen to see it continue to grow.

“Black Tie Ball sold out nearly a month ago,” he said.

“We’ve got Golden Child together as the entertainment and Black Toyota is a major sponsor of the year again, which is great.”

Mr Gordon said he was hoping the high interest in the Black Tie Ball would transfer across to the races tomorrow morning.

“Members sales have been going well and they’ll continue to sell later on in the afternoon,” he said.

Punters are expected to enjoy temperatures in the low-30s on Saturday.
