Beck steps up to the Big Rig block
HAVING always had a passion for food, Beck Swan is marking her one-year anniversary of her catering company by opening her first cafe.
Set to operate by the same name her catering is known and loved for, Beck’s Chopping Block will be serving up coffee and rolling out fresh surprises at the Big Rig from next week.
With a soft opening next Wednesday, Ms Swan is ready to open her doors and pour her way into the hearts of locals and tourists with a grand opening next Saturday.
“For a very long time it has been a dream of mine to open a cafe, it does feel a bit surreal,” she said.
“I have always had a passion for food, and my mum has always been my inspiration, she has been a bit of a teacher of mine.
“It’s overwhelming to be starting this new journey, but the support from the town makes me very grateful.”
Ms Swan has called Roma and Wallumbilla home for over 20 years, and says living in this area has only grown her passion for people and providing quality products.
“I am so looking forward to the people, giving them a good quality product and service,” she said.
“I love people and I love meeting new people. So, to provide this town with something really good quality and a good price and consistency, I’m really excited by.”
Ms Swan said she was particularly excited to start pouring boutique beans, Gold Coast based Laughing Pug.
“I’ve kept the cafe name the same as my catering business, so people can relate to the quality and service, and the reputation I’ve built.”
Beck’s Chopping Block will officially open next Saturday at 6am, at the Big Rig.
