THE Wallabies' preparations for this year's World Cup in England will include a two-week tour of the USA and an historic Test against America at the home of the Chicago Bears' NFL team.
Australia will take on the USA at Chicago's Soldier Field on September 5 and it will be the team's first Test in the USA in almost 40 years.
It will also be just the fourth time Australia will play on US soil.
Australia played its maiden Test match against the Eagles in Los Angeles in 1976, in a game that marked the Eagles' first ever Test on the world stage.
The Wallabies will then fly from the USA to London ahead of their first World Cup pool match against Fiji on September 23 in Cardiff.
Australian Rugby Union chief executive Bill Pulver (pictured) said the tour of America would provide significant strategic benefits for the organisation.
