Art, music and laughter at Injune Where Country Is Festival

ARTS and music will be front and centre on the first two days of the Injune Where Country Is Festival this weekend.

The traditional art show, sponsored by Santos, will feature works by artists from the around the region.

While the pieces must match the theme of Land, Life and Laughter, the artwork can be any medium, which includes wood pieces, quilts, pottery, paintings and photography.

The night will also feature champion Australian bush poet Gary Fogarty, who will entertain the crowd on Friday night with his delightful mix of humour and wordplay.

Described as "cheeky, quick-witted and a fiercely proud Australian", Gary has compered and performed at hundreds of festivals, musters and shows throughout his life.

Wine and cheese, proudly supplied by the Injune Patchworkers, will be freely available for everyone.

The second night of the festival will be focused on music, with well-known performers Travis Holland and Chris Pritchard performing at Possum Park on Saturday.

Chris has toured Australia with many country music artists as a backing musician but, until now, had not pursued a career as the main artist.

Chris preformed at the 2012 Injune festival Music in the Amphitheatre with many of his local fans looking forward to listening to him again.

Dinner will be supplied by the Injune Kindergarten.
