Admission yet to come from Maranoa mayor
A Southwest Queensland mayor found to have been engaged in misconduct and ordered by a tribunal to make an admission has not formally done so since the verdict was handed down.
Maranoa mayor Tyson Golder was busted by the Councillor Conduct Tribunal after making 'misleading, dishonest and unauthorised' comments to landholders near a flood mitigation project, and was found to have constituted a 'breach of trust'.
The report from the CCT was handed down on November 26, 2020.
"Cr Golder was ordered to publicly admit to misconduct at the next council meeting and to undertake relevant training, at his own expense, to address the conduct," independent assessor Kathleen Florian said.
But Cr Golder is yet to make his public admission, even after three special meetings and two ordinary meetings later.
