Oscar Pistorius shouldn't be jailed says Psychologist

A PSYCHOLOGIST has told the sentencing hearing of Oscar Pistorius the South African Paralympic champion is a "broken" man who should be hospitalised, not jailed.

Convicted of murder on appeal after initially being found guilty of manslaughter over the shooting death of girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp, and serving one year of a five-year sentence, Pistorius is living under house arrest.

Psychologist Jonathan Scholtz said the double amputee was on medication for depression, anxiety and insomnia.
