Darling Downs shattered by father's crash death

A DARLING Downs community is in mourning after the tragic death of a loving father and dedicated family man in a motorbike crash.
Travis Mitchell, 38, was killed when the motorbike he was riding crashed into a tree and metal sign south of Chinchilla about 1.15pm Sunday.
Mr Mitchell died in Chinchilla Hospital as a result of the injuries sustained in the crash.
Online tributes have flowed for Mr Mitchell, who was living in Chinchilla and working in the coal seam gas industry.

He was remembered as a "great person, loyal friend and dedicated family man".
"I can't believe my brother is gone," Belinda Mitchell wrote on The Chronicle's Facebook page.
"Love you so much Trav.
"Say hi to mum for us."
"It will never be the same without you," Lucy Philp wrote.
"Great person. Loyal friend. Thinking of Naomi and the boys. RIP Travis and keep smiling down over us," Kris Stead wrote.

Mr Mitchell was heavily involved in trail bike riding and the Chinchilla Suns AFL side.
A post on the Suns' Facebook page paid tribute to his involvement.
"On behalf of the Chinchilla Suns family and Chinchilla community, our condolences, thoughts and prayers are with the Mitchell family after the great loss of a husband and father.
"We have lost an outstanding clubman, player, umpire and above all a mate who will always be remembered."
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
