Police nab 12 people behind alleged $3.7 million drug ring

POLICE have arrested 12 people allegedly behind a Sydney drug syndicate pulling in $3.7 million a year.

The alleged drug ring's leader, William Siryani, was denied bail amid concerns he could flee the state.

Police told the court the ice operation netted up to $72,000 every Friday and Saturday night, with proceeds totalling about $3.7 million a year.

Siryani and 11 alleged accomplices were arrested after a series of raids across Sydney on Friday night.

The raids involved more than 100 officers.

Police said they had 48,000 text messages and 11,500 related voice call recordings to comb through.
