There are multiple ambulances, police units, a fire truck and tow truck responding to the scene.

It is understood to be a truck rollover.

A motorist caught up in the traffic attempting to head north reported to The Gympie Times hearing from a nearby resident who heard a loud bang.

While emergency services attend the scene, some drivers have started standing outside their vehicles.

Meanwhile, a number of motorists wanting to head north have turned around and started to drive back towards Gympie.
